Today would officially have been the end of our Spring term. I hope that everyone is safe and well at home
and starting to get used to our new routines.
I would like to extend a huge thank you for the continued support that you have shown to the children, our
staff and the wider community during a period of uncertainty and concern. All of our families are in our
thoughts. We hope that you are taking care of each other. We have been overwhelmed with the positive
messages, examples of home learning activities shared and your response to a variety of requests.
The next two weeks are the Easter holidays and I am asking staff to work a little differently during this next
phase. Teachers will not be setting daily work during the holiday period or responding to children’s queries.
It is important that they have an opportunity to recharge their batteries and plan work for the term ahead.
School will remain open during the holiday period for the children of key workers only. I would like to take
this opportunity to thank staff for their dedication and their willingness to take on additional duties during
their holiday period. We all recognise that these are unprecedented times and there is a willingness to do
whatever we can to support the national effort to overcome COVID-19.
Looking ahead it seems likely that our home learning arrangements may last for some time. Our Summer
term will officially begin on Monday 20 April and we will recommence setting home learning challenges for
the children from then.
In the meantime I would like to wish all of our families a safe, quiet and uneventful Easter. Remember that
by looking after your children at home you are playing a vitally important part in the national strategy to
overcome this virus.
With best wishes
