We started off with a week of poetry. We used bonfire night and fireworks as a stimulus and followed the same pattern as our autumn poems to create firework poems linked to our senses. This time we also added verbs as well as adjectives to make our poems exciting.

We then moved on to looking at some texts that linked with our Geography topic 'We are the UK'.

'Katie went to London' was our first story. We spent time looking at the vocabulary and writing our own definitions for the words we found tricky. We then looked at the features of a letter, before creating a plan and then writing our own letter to describe the sights of London.

Our next text was  'Katie went to Scotland'. We followed a similar pattern but this time we looked at features of a diary entry, created a plan and then wrote our own diary entry about a visit to Scotland.
