At Darras Hall Primary School, we promote a respect for democracy and the children have many opportunities for participation in the democratic process.
We elect a School Council who meet with Mrs Pulham on a weekly basis. They talk about a number of issues, and then go back to their own classes, collecting and bringing back ideas of others in the class, to add to our meetings.
Opportunities for children to have their say and participate is embedded in our teaching and learning.
Children are encouraged to express their thoughts, feelings and concerns during circle time and PSHE lessons, as well as throughout the wider curriculum.
