At Darras Hall we believe art education stimulates creativity, inventiveness and imagination whilst enabling the child unique opportunities to develop intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. Art should provide children with opportunities to communicate what they see, feel and think. The children experience a variety of techniques and skills to foster and develop their own ability and individuality in regards to '"art making." Children experiment with their ideas, their use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes through traditions, famous artists and celebrated pieces. At Darras Hall art is not taught just taught in a designated lesson, but wherever appropriate it is interwoven within topics and the wider curriculum as it gives children the opportunity to bring their artwork to life. Children's work in art is celebrated and valued throughout the school in the form of displays in the halls, corridors and classrooms.
